Ways you recruit your tutors: Graduate students are TAs for the course. Undergrads are recruited by professors in classes and from Biology and Biochemistry clubs.
Tutors Qualifications: Peer tutors must have recently passed the class with an A- or higher, must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
Tutor Training: Provided by CAS.

Chemistry

Tutoring Program: CHEM CENTRAL, located in 115 Hurtig Hall, is staffed by graduate students and faculty for around 30-40 hours/week.

English-Writing

Tutoring Program: WRITING CENTER (WC) provides free & friendly help for any level writer-help with conceptualizing, planning, researching, organizing, drafting, revising, editing techniques, etc.

Earth & Environmental Sciences

Tutoring Program: Provides tutoring primarily through walk-in services.

Tutors qualifications: Undergraduate students with strong academic performance in class (es), and faculty sense of students' reliability and ability to relate easily with students seeking assistance.
Tutor Training: Tutors are instructed in the range of activities like answer questions verbally, review topics a student is unclear on, but not stray across the fuzzy line into doing homework problems etc.

Journalism

Tutoring Program: The program focuses on editing, proofreading and fact-checking of student assignments and articles submitted for publication in the Northeastern News. Nicholas Coates, writing coach. Lincoln McKie, editorial lab director, as of January 2008. Supervises writing coach. Will provide supplementary news reporting and writing coaching and training to students taking Journalism I or Journalism II courses, or both.

Tutoring Program: We have a drop-in Physics Workshop staffed by graduate students as part of their teaching assignment located in the Introductory Physics Labs in Churchill. We are planning to involve undergraduate physics majors in tutoring, especially those involved with the Society of Physics Students chapter.
